Hayes Local Lodge 478 News  478 Supports Manitowac Machinists1/18/2012 IAM Local Lodge 478 voted at Tuesday's union meeting to send $500 in support of the Manitowac Crane Machinists, Local 516, who have been on strike since November 15th.IAMAW local 516 overwhelmingly rejected a new contract proposal that still contained many union-busting provisions. At issue, is non-economic contract language which would have zero impact on productivity and instead bust the worker's union. The language, which the workers have overwhelming voted down twice, would destroy the union and the worker's ability to have a voice on the job. |
